Matreira (Almond-base products and olive oil)

Matreira was born from the desire to share the unique flavours of Beira Alta with the rest of the world. Here you will find varieties of ancient trees whose fruit bears a sublime flavour that has been refined over hundreds of years. Matreira products are handcrafted and produced in the Greater Côa Valley. Made with almonds and olives of indigenous varieties from the Douro region, they offer a unique flavour given the distinctive characteristics of this area of schist soils and peculiar microclimate.

Flor Alta (Natural cosmetic products)

Flor Alta offers a range of handmade and natural products, as an alternative to the use of synthetic substances found in traditional industrialized beauty products. The plants used are highly prized for their medicinal properties. Their range of products includes balms, essential oils, and moisturizing creams for the face and hands (among others). They have also recently included a selection of herbal infusions.

AMBOMbagas (Red Fruits and Organic Liqueurs and Sweets)

Production and selling of organic red fruits and nuts, as well as sweets and liqueurs made from these same fruits. Located in Avelãs de Ambon, in Guarda. Growing business and already with wide distribution at national level and with large distribution chains.

Flor do Côa (Honey)

Between the banks of the Côa River and the mountains of Beira Interior, the bees of Flor do Côa, a partner of the Wild Côa Network, produce a unique and very special nectar in the Vale de Madeira area, right next to the Rewilding Center and the Ermo das Águias rewilding area.

Planalto Dourado (jams and chutneys)

Planalto Dourado, founded in 2005, is reborn from an old and traditional wine-growing house in Beira Interior whose production was converted into an organic mode. The products produced are: essential oils, aromatic plants, sweets and jams, spiced chutneys, dried tomatoes, flavored salts, rhubarb. The land that once produced wine is now also the cradle of aromatic plants, vegetables and fruits that later reach the hands of consumers in the most diverse forms.

Quinta das Baganhas (chestnut, hazelnut and almond)

Quinta das Baganhas is located at an altitude of around 800 meters in the village of Urgueira, which belongs to the union of the parishes of Sabugal and Aldeia de Santo António – the Alto Côa region where the river marks the landscape and the Serra da Malcata draws the relief under the ever-watchful eye of Saint Cornelio. With an approximate area of ​​7 hectares, this project produces in transition to organic production mode (MPB) – in addition to chestnut – varieties Martaínha, Judia and Souto Velho; Nut, Franqueti variety; Hazelnut, variety of Tonda di Gifondi and Almond of the Lauranne variety.

Quinta Vale do Tourão (handmade and natural sheep milk soaps)

A farm with organic almond and olive groves in Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, which is dedicated to the production of various cosmetic and natural products based on almonds, olive oil and also sheep’s milk. Highlights include the many handmade and 100% natural soaps, made with fresh milk from the farm’s own sheep.

O Lambão (almonds)

O Lambão was born at the end of 2021, almost as a joke, out of the desire to create a project based on raw materials from Mêda. So creativity was combined with traditional gastronomy, knowledge of local products with a critical sense and O Lambão was born, with an imperfect, handcrafted product whose raw material is so much ours – the almond. Basically, we took a nut that is naturally good in itself and enriched it with a few gastronomic tricks. At Lambão, we believe that we all have a lambão inside us and that our “lambonas almonds” reveal just that in each of us. Sometimes in a more subtle way, sometimes in a more pronounced way.

Ama-te (natural cosmetic products)

In the ballet between olive oil, almonds, beeswax and the endogenous plants of our region, “Ama-te” products are born. We use the properties of plants to create various natural cosmetic products from macerations, reviving ancestral wisdom. We have rediscovered plants such as shepherd’s purse, plantain, nettle, rosemary, St. John’s wort, elderberry, dog rose, thyme, rosemary… Creating solid shampoos, soap, creams, repellent, various ointments. In this dance, I was only invited to be part of the beat.

Pica Pau is a natural cosmetics and lifestyle brand that combines the power of nature in its products. Located in the heart of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park, in Famalicão da Serra, Pica Pau is dedicated to producing high-quality, affordable natural products that are good for people without harming the environment.

Mel Casalta (honey production)

Mel Casalta is a local producer of honey and honey-derived products in Aldeia da Ponte, in the municipality of Sabugal, and a member of the Wild Côa Network. A highlight is the Honey with Ginger, already on sale in our online store here on the website.

Choupana do Pastor (traditional local products – cheese, meat etc.)

Cheese, meat and regional products store in Guarda, where you can enjoy all the typical products of the Gretater Côa Valley region: cheeses, ham and sausages, homemade bread, cottage cheese, jams, wines, olive oil, etc.

Urticarea (nettle craft beer)

Born in 2021, Urticarea is dedicated to the production of nettle-based products. Yes, you read that right, NETTLE! Disliked by many, nettle is a medicinal plant with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, rich in vitamins and minerals. With superpowers of this caliber, we’re surprised it hasn’t yet been recruited by Marvel for the Avengers team!

Vinilourenço (wine)

The company currently has 45 hectares of vineyards, spread over the municipalities of Meda and Vila Nova de Foz Côa. The dispersion of the various vineyard plots across Poço do Canto, Vale da Teja and Pocinho, with a great diversity of climate, soils and altitude between 160 and 700 m, schist in the lower areas and schist/granite in the higher areas, allows for the creation of very different wines. The harvest lasts for more than a month and a half, but the different behavior of the same grape varieties planted in different places makes for an enormous versatility of wine styles.
