In recent years Rewilding Portugal has developed several nature documentaries that showcase not only all the work carried out by the organisation, but also Portugal’s rich natural heritage and specifically the Greater Côa Valley, spreading the rewilding movement nationally and internationally.

WILDER CÔA (2024)

The nature documentary “Côa Mais Selvagem” reveals the wildest side of Portugal: the Greater Côa Valley. Follow the journey of the river Côa, which flows from south to north, marvel at landscapes that stretch beyond sight, and discover the wildlife that is returning to them.

Throughout the film, you’ll come to know the work of Rewilding Portugal in rewilding this great wildlife corridor, a landscape where natural processes are restored, the cycle of life becomes whole again, and people and wildlife coexist in a positive and lasting way.

Released in November 2024, the documentary travelled through national and international festivals during 2025, where it was distinguished several times. It is now available, free of charge, on our YouTube channel.

REWILDING, A NEW PATH FOR NATURE IN PORTUGAL (2020)

A documentary that reveals the work that has been carried out on the ground by the LIFE WolFlux and ‘Scaling Up Rewilding in the Greater Côa Valley’ projects in the first two years of this project. Impressive images of the region’s biodiversity, important warnings and a message of hope for the future brought by the new rewilding approach that has arrived in the Greater Côa Valley and which has been gaining strength and dimension in recent years.
