Nature Documentaries

In recent years Rewilding Portugal has developed several nature documentaries that showcase not only all the work carried out by the organisation, but also Portugal’s rich natural heritage and specifically the Greater Côa Valley, spreading the rewilding movement nationally and internationally.

WILDER CÔA (2024)

55 min’ , Realização: João Cosme / Produção: Fernando Teixeira e Rewilding Portugal / Locução: Ana Varela

The wilder side of Portugal. The premise couldn’t be better. The nature documentary ‘Wilder Côa’ reveals exactly what the wildest side of Portugal is in this region of the Greater Côa Valley. Follow the exciting journey of the Côa River, which flows from south to north, be amazed by its breathtaking landscapes, meet the wildlife that surrounds it and is returning to it, and learn how Rewilding Portugal has been rewilding this entire great wildlife corridor over the last five years. A landscape where natural processes are restored, the cycle of life is once again complete and functional, and where people and wildlife coexist in a positive and lasting way. This film premiered in November 2024 and is not yet available for free digitally. It will be in circulation nationally and internationally during 2025.
