LIFE LUPI LYNX
LIFE LUPI LYNX is a cross-border initiative that brings together six organisations from Portugal and Spain with the aim of contributing to the conservation of the Iberian wolf (Canis lupus) and the Iberian lynx (Lynx pardinus). The project will be implemented in the areas south of the Douro River, Beira Interior (districts of Guarda and Castelo Branco) and Extremadura, and is co-financed by the European Union through the LIFE Programme. With a duration of 5 years, it began in January 2024 and its main objectives are to improve the social and ecological conditions for the Iberian wolf and lynx in a cross-border area, and to help communities live harmoniously with wildlife, ensuring adequate habitat conditions and coexistence with human activities.
