Luís Ferreira is the big winner of the “Cascais Special Edition”, of the Nature Photography Contest “Rewilding Photo Contest” that has been organized by Rewilding Portugal for two years. This special edition was held in partnership with Cascais Ambiente (Municipality of Cascais).
This Nature Photography Contest “Rewilding Photo Contest”, which has already had two editions organized by Rewilding Portugal, has been rewarding the best in nature photography in Portugal and its main objective is to promote the Portuguese natural heritage and its respective enhancement and protection, through nature photography as a means of making the community aware of the magnificent ecosystems and respective species of wild fauna and flora that we have in our country.
This special edition served to mark the partnership between Rewilding Portugal and Cascais Ambiente with the common goal of making Portugal a wilder place. The jury was composed by Pedro Prata (representing Rewilding Portugal), Bárbara Madeira (representing Cascais Ambiente) and João Ferreira (renowned nature photographer in Portugal). In this edition, which was dedicated to photographs of fauna, flora, fungi and natural and natural landscapes that had to be taken in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, the winners were the following: Luís Ferreira (1st place), Rui Neto (2nd place) and Paulo Oliveira (3rd place).
The first place will receive 500 euros, the second 250 euros and the third 100 euros. All will also receive a basket of merchandising and information from the promoting entities. The prize-giving ceremony will now take place on 20 May, at 3pm, during the Maios Festival event in Cascais.
